Super Simple Fudge

IngredientsHave you ever gone to the fair, and on the way out, you stop at the fudge booth and stock up on a couple pounds of chocolate for the trip home?  It’s like a county fair delicacy.  Melts in your mouth.  Chocolatey, sweet, amazing goodness.  Wouldn’t it be nice if you could make your own?  Something quick and easy, and still tastes simply divine?  Well now you can make this county fair goodie at home in just a few simple steps!  Consider this a gift.  You’re welcome! 😉

Three steps.  Four ingredients.  And I can tell you in under 300 words.  Don’t believe me?!  Go try it!

Here’s what you’ll need:
2 boxes Bakers semi-sweet baking chocolate
2tsp Vanilla extract (I like it with about 1 1/2)
1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 cup Walnuts (crushed, chopped – whatever) *I used pecans for this recipe, so it’s up to you!

Step one: Melt the chocolate and sweetened condensed milk in a glass bowl in the microwave for 2 minutes.  Stir with a rubber spatula until it’s well blended.  You’ll know it’s melted completely when it’s smooth and shiny.

Step two: Add the vanilla and nuts and mix well.

Step three: Pour on wax paper or heavy aluminum foil and let cool for 2 hours in the fridge.

Now if you are like me, you must add a fourth step.  Remember this is completely optional, but I find it is required.  However, for those of you with much bigger willpower muscles, well, congrats on that.  😉

*Optional Step four:  Sample your finished product.

***Easiest way I’ve found to store fudge (and ship, if you want) is to wrap it in wax paper, and place in quart jars.  You can refrigerate if you live somewhere humid.  This will keep the chocolate from “sweating”.
