Datevitation: Spreading the Love!

1 - Datevitaiton BookConfession time:  I’m officially the Valentine’s Day Grinch.  I never really thought about it.  Didn’t dwell on it.  Never harped on it.  Which is why it came as quite the surprise when Lynsey (moscatomom) pointed it out.  She and I were walking through Target to round up some Valentine’s goodies for her blog, and we found the wall of pink – you know the one with the hearts and glitter and pink and purple everywhere?  And her reaction was “Eeeek!  I want that, and that, and OH did you see this?!”  And my reaction was “Ugh.”  She broke the news to me like this:

Lynsey: “Oh my goodness!  It’s a little hedgehog!”
Me: “And…?”
Lynsey: “But he’s purple!”
Me: “Aaand???”
Lynsey: “He’s holding a HEART!!!”
Me: **blank stare**
Lynsey: “Oh no…You’re the GRINCH!”

I must admit…it stung…for like a second.  And then I was like “Finally!  A name to go with my condition!”  It was true.  I hated Valentine’s Day.  Not even sure when it happened.  Or even if I ever loved this holiday at all.  Perhaps it was just that it was associated with some of the worst moments of my past?  Or the fact that I’d been single for the last two years?  Whatever the case, I had admittedly become rather Bah Humbug about this holiday.

Now that I’ve confessed, I feel better! 🙂  Even more, I am actually participating in Valentine’s Day.  **Disclaimer: It helps to have someone I’m excited to celebrate with!!**  I am also extremely excited about this adorable gift I made!  This year, I made my first Love Coupon Book!  This website is the first platform that allows you to create your very own coupon books – you can personalize them by choosing from over 500 dates (from sweet to steamy and everything in between!), over 100 covers that will fit almost every occasion, and even has a new feature that lets you add your own faces to the characters!  Ahhh-dorable!  All I did was go in and pick what dates I wanted, add my pictures on the illustrations, put in a little love note, and Datevitation does the rest!  I received my book in 4 days!  This is actually a family business run by a husband-wife team, and I’m thrilled with their service and the product!

  1. This is such a cute idea! I spend my Valentine’s Day doing something nice for the kids. It’s not romance for me and the hubby. I like to bake a lot though for Valentine’s Day.

  2. I’ve actually seen other reviews of these things and were impressed with them even then. I have seen NOTHING but good things said about these gifts. I’m glad to see that you felt the same way.

  3. These are AWESOME. I’ve made little coupon books before, but they always take so much work. I love the idea of being able to customize and order something and have most of the work done for me.
